One-Stop Pilot Program Extension Act

Introduced June 23, 2026

AI-Generated Summary

Updated June 24, 2026 at 2:22 PM UTC

The One‑Stop Pilot Program Extension Act would keep in place a TSA program that lets passengers and their checked bags, already screened at certain foreign airports, stay on additional U.S. flights without being re‑screened. The bill extends the program’s authorized period and sets the conditions that must be met for the exemption.

Key Provisions

  • Allows checked baggage that was screened with an explosives detection system at designated foreign “last point of departure” airports to bypass further TSA screening on subsequent U.S. flights, as long as the passenger cannot access the bag until the final destination.
  • Requires U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to receive timely images of the baggage before it arrives in the United States and to confirm that no additional inspection is needed.
  • Extends the program’s authorization from six years to ten years.
