AI-Generated Summary

Updated July 30, 2026 at 3:22 AM UTC

The LEARN AI Act lets the Department of Labor promote the use of artificial‑intelligence training in registered apprenticeship programs. It encourages the inclusion of AI topics, provides best‑practice resources, and offers technical help to those who want to add AI skills, but it does not force any program to change its curriculum. The bill affects apprentices, employers, labor organizations, and educational institutions that run or sponsor registered apprenticeships.

Key Provisions

  • Congress expresses that the United States should promote workforce readiness for AI through registered apprenticeship programs.
  • The Secretary of Labor is authorized to encourage AI-related instruction, develop best‑practice guidance, and give technical assistance to employers, labor groups, schools, and apprenticeship sponsors that want to add AI competencies to their programs.
  • The Department may support any existing Department of Labor efforts that help apprentices adapt to AI‑driven technological changes.
  • The bill makes clear that no apprenticeship program is required to adopt AI instruction or change its existing standards.
