AI-Generated Summary

Updated November 24, 2025 at 2:07 AM UTC

This House resolution establishes how much money each House committee can spend during the 119th Congress, including staff salaries and other costs. It caps total spending for each committee and splits the allowance between the first and second sessions of the Congress. The resolution also sets payment procedures, creates a small reserve fund for unforeseen costs, and lets the Committee on House Administration adjust the amounts if required by budget rules.

Key Provisions

  • Sets a total annual budget for each House committee for the 119th Congress, with specific dollar amounts listed for each committee.
  • Divides each committee’s budget into two equal‑session limits: one amount for the first session (Jan 3 2025 – Jan 3 2026) and a separate amount for the second session (Jan 3 2026 – Jan 3 2027).
  • Requires that payments be made by vouchers signed by the committee chair and approved according to procedures of the Committee on House Administration.
  • Creates a $4 million reserve fund for unexpected committee expenses, split evenly between the two sessions, to be allocated by the Committee on House Administration.
  • Gives the Committee on House Administration authority to adjust committee allocations if needed to comply with presidential budget orders or changes in appropriations.
