AI-Generated Summary

Updated November 24, 2025 at 3:43 AM UTC

The Supporting All Producers (SAP) Act amends the 2014 Agricultural Act’s Acer Access and Development Program, which supports the maple industry. It adds a formal consultation step so the USDA must gather and consider industry input before issuing grants, and it pushes a key program deadline out to 2030. The changes affect maple producers and the USDA officials who manage the program.

Key Provisions

  • Renumbers existing subsections (e) and (f) of the Acer Access and Development Program to (f) and (g).
  • Adds a new subsection (e) that requires the USDA Secretary to ask maple industry stakeholders for input on research and education priorities at least one year after the law takes effect and no later than six months before the next grant application round.
  • Requires the Secretary to take the stakeholder input into account when awarding grants under the program.
  • Changes a program deadline in the newly‑renamed subsection (g) from the year 2023 to 2030.
