Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Alexa PenaVega as a 2025 She Leads America Young Christian Woman of Distinction award recipient.

Alexa PenaVega is an actress, author, and producer whose career began at just four years old. Known for her breakout role in the Spy Kids franchise and dozens of film and television projects since, Alexa has grown up in the entertainment industry. Over the years, her journey as a wife, mother, and follower of Jesus has reshaped not only how she lives her personal life but also how she approaches her professional calling.

As Alexa's faith deepened, a noticeable shift took place in the types of projects she chose to pursue. Together with her husband, Carlos, she founded Good For You Entertainment, a production company committed to creating high-quality content with the Kingdom at its core.

In recognition of her faith-driven leadership and positive influence, Alexa is being honored as a She Leads America Christian Woman of Distinction. This distinction reflects her dedication to living out her calling with integrity, courage, and Kingdom purpose.

For Alexa, faith is not separate from her art--it is the lens through which she views every decision. She believes storytelling has the power to inspire change, build community, and point people toward His light in a world often overwhelmed by darkness. Her work today is an extension of her walk with God.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Dr. Corinthia Ridgley Boone as a 2025 She Leads America Young Christian Woman of Distinction award recipient.

Dr. Corinthia Ridgley Boone is an author, bridge builder of unity, and an ambassador of prayer and reconciliation, both in the United States and internationally. She earned her Ph.D. in Philosophy and Counseling from Union University and devoted 25 years of service to the Prince George's County School System as a teacher, principal, and instructional specialist.

In 1987, Dr. Boone founded Together in Ministry International to foster international and interracial relationships among pastors and churches in the capital region. Building on that vision, she established the International Christian Host Coalition in 1996 to coordinate churches, ministries, and organizations in reconciliation efforts, evangelistic outreach, and compassionate service.

Since 1985, she has faithfully chaired the Capital City National Day of Prayer, uniting believers across denominational and cultural lines. Her leadership was recognized in 1988 when she was honored in Who's Who in Women's Ministry, and in 2025 is being honored as a She Leads America Christian Woman of Distinction.

Dr. Boone has served tirelessly on numerous national and regional boards. She has spoken widely across the U.S. and abroad, emphasizing unity, prayer, racial reconciliation, and generational bridges. She continues to serve as God's ambassador of prayer and reconciliation in this generation.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Jennifer Sevilla Korn for her public service and leadership.

A native of East Los Angeles and a proud Marine Corps spouse, Jennifer is a national conservative leader, policy expert, and political strategist whose faith has guided her throughout a distinguished 20-year career in public service. She helped elect and advise two U.S.

Presidents and two U.S. Attorneys General while leading national grassroots and communications efforts that achieved historic gains among minority, veteran, and faith voters.

Appointed by President Trump as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the newly created White House Faith Office, Jennifer works to protect religious freedom, ensuring Americans of all faiths have a voice in their government. She advises the President on matters of faith at home and abroad. Previously, she co-founded the National Faith Advisory Board, the largest faith coalition in the United States, representing leaders from every state, denomination, and ethnic background.

Her earlier career includes serving as Deputy Political Director at the Republican National Committee, Director of Hispanic and Women's Affairs in the George W. Bush White House, and Senior Advisor to two U.S. Attorneys General at the Department of Justice. As a She Leads America honoree, Jennifer believes leadership is a calling to serve others with both truth and compassion, empowering individuals, strengthening families, and preserving freedom for future generations.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Terri ``WindTalker'' Clah as a 2025 She Leads America Young Christian Woman of Distinction award.

Terri ``WindTalker'' Clah of the Dine (People of the Land) Nation and Ute Mountain Ute Tribe was raised in the Four Corners region on her ancestral lands, immersed in the beauty, resilience, and painful history of her people. Listening to the elders' stories from a young age--some filled with hope, others scarred by struggle--shaped her deep understanding of cultural identity, spiritual strength, and the need for healing across generations.

Leadership is woven into Terri's heritage. Her great-uncle, Deshna Clah, served as the second Chairman of the Dine Nation, while her uncle, Peter McDonald, was both a President of the Dine Nation and is one of the last living U.S. Marine Code Talkers. Inspired by her mother, Bessie Clah, who modeled a life of service, Terri embraced her own path of advocacy and reconciliation.

At age 26, she encountered Jesus Christ, whose message of love and restoration affirmed her Native identity and calling to bridge cultures. Through her Moccasins Across America Prayer Walk--from California to Washington, DC, May through October 2025--Terri has ignited a national movement for prayer, justice, and healing. Today, as a She Leads America Christian Woman of Distinction, she continues to inspire others to walk in faith and carry the love of God to the Nation.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize CeCe Heil as a 2025 She Leads America Young Christian Woman of Distinction award recipient.

CeCe Heil is Senior Counsel and International Legal Director at the American Center for Law and Justice, specializing in public policy and global legal matters, including the

United Nations. She heads a team of lawyers handling cases in defense of life, defense of Christians, protection of U.S. national security interests, defense of Israel, and confronting Islamic extremism. She was the lead attorney responsible for the release of Pastor Brunson from Turkey and Pastor Nerren from India.

Heil is a recognized leader in advancing pro-family, pro-life, and pro-free enterprise policies, including being a former candidate for U.S. Congress. Her service and expertise as a constitutional law scholar earned her the support of Sarah Palin, who named her one of a handful of ``Mama Grizzlies.'' In recognition of her leadership and faith, she is being honored as a 2025 She Leads America Christian Woman of Distinction.

Guided by her deep faith in Jesus Christ, Heil views her legal work as more than a profession--it is a calling. Prayer and biblical values shape her decisions and sustain her courage to stand for truth and justice on behalf of the vulnerable.

Heil has practiced law for 33 years and is licensed in California, Tennessee, Virginia, and Missouri, as well as being licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Brooke L. Rollins as a 2025 She Leads America Young Christian Woman of Distinction award recipient.

Brooke L. Rollins is the 33rd U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and only the second woman in history to serve in this role. A native of Glen Rose, Texas, she brings decades of leadership in law, policy, and public service. Most recently, she was the Founder, President, and CEO of the America First Policy Institute (AFPI). During President Trump's first administration, Rollins served as Director of the Domestic Policy Council, Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives, and Director of the Office of American Innovation--roles in which she helped develop and lead transformational domestic policy initiatives with lasting national impact.

Her career began in Texas, where after graduating with honors from Texas A&M University and becoming the school's first female student body president, she earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. She went on to serve as Governor Rick Perry's policy director and later as CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, transforming it into a nationally recognized think tank.

Guided by her deep Christian faith, Rollins views her work in public policy as a calling to serve people, strengthen families, and uphold biblical values. She is being honored as a 2025 She Leads America Christian Woman of Distinction.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Kayleigh Bush as a 2025 She Leads America Young Christian Woman of Distinction award recipient.

In 2025, Kayleigh Bush competed and won the Miss America preliminary title of Miss North Florida. Just four weeks after being crowned, she faced a decision that tested her faith, her courage, and her convictions. Pageant directors presented a newly revised contract that redefined what it means to be female. Choosing truth over a title, Kayleigh courageously declined to sign.

Following the Matthew 18 model, she privately pleaded with the organization's leaders, urging them to return to truth and biological reality. Her appeal was met with indifference, but Kayleigh remained steadfast, accepting the loss of her title rather than compromising her faith.

Kayleigh represents a modern-day Esther: one who is willing to speak when the culture demands silence. Her story reminds us that courage is contagious, truth is not negotiable, and that no earthly crown compares to the one given by Christ.

Her boldness has been recognized nationally. In 2025, She Leads America is honoring Kayleigh with a Young Christian Woman of Distinction award, celebrating her as a rising leader who demonstrates unwavering faith, integrity, and moral clarity. This recognition places her among a network of accomplished Christian women leaders who are shaping culture with courage and conviction.

Today, we honor Kayleigh Bush--not just as the Canceled Crown, but as a living testimony of 1 Timothy 4:12: ``Let no one look down on you because of your youth, but be an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.''

Mr. Speaker, I rise today with great pride and admiration to recognize the extraordinary life and milestone of Mr. Edmund Good, a lifelong public servant and respected member of the Michigan community, as he celebrates his 100th birthday.

For three decades, Mr. Good faithfully served as the Township Clerk for Brookfield Township, where he carried out his duties with integrity, diligence, and a steadfast commitment to his neighbors. His leadership and service helped ensure that local government remained accountable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the people.

Mr. Good's dedication to his community was matched by his unwavering commitment to his country's political life. He was honored to serve as a delegate for Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, playing a meaningful role in advancing their principles and vision during pivotal moments in our Nation's history. His decades of support demonstrate not only his loyalty to the values he holds dear but also his deep belief in civic duty and citizen involvement in democracy.

Turning 100 years old is itself a remarkable achievement, a milestone reached by few and deserving of the highest recognition. Yet, what makes this occasion truly special is not only the years Mr. Good has lived, but also the example he has set for all of us through his service, dedication, and lifelong commitment to faith, family, and community.

Mr. Speaker, it is my distinct honor to recognize Edmund Good on the occasion of his 100th birthday. His life reflects the very best of American perseverance, patriotism, and service. I ask my colleagues to join me in celebrating this extraordinary man and wishing him continued health and happiness in the years ahead.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the distinguished service of Captain Mike Retzlaff, a proud veteran of the United States Army whose dedication, leadership, and commitment to duty reflect the highest traditions of military service.

Born and raised in Holly, Michigan, Captain Retzlaff pursued higher education at Cedarville University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and completed the Army ROTC program. In 2017, he was commissioned as an Armor Officer in the United States Army, marking the beginning of a career of honorable service to our Nation.

Captain Retzlaff's first assignment was as a Tank Platoon Leader with 3rd Platoon, Battle Company, 1st Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado. In 2019, he deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield, where his leadership made a significant contribution to the mission's success. Upon returning, he served as the Headquarters Company Executive Officer, managing company operations, resources, and readiness. His performance and dedication during this period earned him induction into the prestigious Order of St. George.

Following his time at Fort Carson, Captain Retzlaff attended the Maneuver Captain's Career Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, graduating in 2022. He was then assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 16th Cavalry Regiment, where he served as an Armor Basic Officer Leader Course (ABOLC) Tactics Instructor, training the next generation of Army leaders.

In August 2022, Captain Retzlaff assumed command of Lightning Troop, 2nd Squadron, 16th Cavalry Regiment. As Troop Commander, he led more than 100 soldiers and was responsible for executing live-fire gunnery training for all new Armor Officers in the United States Army--an essential mission he carried out with distinction.

Upon completion of command, Captain Retzlaff returned home to Michigan, where he served at the Detroit Military Entrance Processing Station. During his tenure, he enlisted more than 1,000 applicants into their respective branches of service, shaping the future of America's Armed Forces.

Over the course of his military career, Captain Retzlaff completed numerous schools, including the Armor Basic Officer Leader Course, the Army Reconnaissance Course, Air Assault School, the Advanced Situational Awareness Course, the Maneuver Leaders Maintenance Course, and the Maneuver Captain's Career Course. His service has been recognized with the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and several other awards and decorations. He is also a proud Silver Spur holder and recipient of the Order of St. George.

Mr. Speaker, Captain Retzlaff's career reflects a legacy of leadership, professionalism, and patriotism. His service to our Nation has strengthened our armed forces and inspired those who served alongside him. It is my

honor to recognize his contributions and extend our deepest gratitude for his dedication to the United States of America.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today with deep respect and admiration to recognize the remarkable service of Radioman Petty Officer 3rd Class Natale ``Nate'' Scarpelli, a proud veteran of the United States Navy and our distinguished Veteran of the Month for October 2025 from Michigan's 9th Congressional District. His courage, dedication, and sacrifice during World War II reflect the very best of the American spirit.

Radioman Scarpelli answered his country's call to service in 1942. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was assigned as a Radioman Petty Officer 3rd Class aboard the USS Moreno (AT-87). He joined his ship in North Africa, becoming the youngest member of a seasoned crew.

The USS Moreno played a critical role in the war effort, carrying out dangerous missions that included firefighting, towing disabled warships, deploying depth charges, underwater welding, and escort operations. Radioman Scarpelli's skill as a radioman, communicating through Morse code and signal lamp, kept the crew connected during critical engagements. He also served as the ship's marksman, helping set sights on its 5-inch cannon, 40mm guns, and long-range weapons.

Radioman Scarpelli's service brought him to the frontlines of some of the war's most pivotal campaigns. The USS Moreno supported the Allied invasion of Sicily, clearing the coastline for advancing Army units. Later, it provided support during the Invasion of Southern France. During combat, Radioman Scarpelli was wounded by land artillery and treated at a field hospital before rejoining his ship, where he continued his duties, including cutting mine cables and neutralizing deadly sea mines.

In one remarkable mission, the USS Moreno captured a German one-man submarine armed with a torpedo. The vessel was brought aboard for inspection, drawing the attention of senior military leadership eager to study its design.

Radioman Scarpelli also served alongside his three brothers: Frank, who fought in the Pacific with the Army; John, who took part in the invasion of Northern France; and Augie, who manned guns on a Navy merchant ship in the Pacific. Their shared service reflects the extraordinary sense of duty and sacrifice that defined their generation.

After the war, which he served through 1945, Radioman Scarpelli returned home to Michigan. He completed a tool and die apprenticeship, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and began a distinguished career at Ford Motor Company in Manufacturing Engineering. There, he developed an innovative single-piece rear differential system that was later acquired by MIT. He married in 1953, retired at age 55, and spent the decades that followed traveling the world, remaining dedicated to his family, faith, and community.

Mr. Speaker, Nate Scarpelli's life is a testament to service and resilience. Whether on the deck of the USS Moreno or in the engineering halls of Ford Motor Company, his contributions strengthened both our Nation's security and its industry. It is my distinct honor to recognize him as our Veteran of the Month for October 2025.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today with profound respect and gratitude to recognize the extraordinary service and unwavering dedication of Master Sergeant Tommy J. King, a proud veteran of the United States Army and our distinguished Veteran of the Month for September 2025 from Michigan's 9th Congressional District. His exceptional military career and steadfast commitment to duty, excellence, and patriotism embody the very best of American service.

Master Sergeant King is a native of Houston, Texas, who answered the call to serve his country in February of 1994 at the young age of 18. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, followed by Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia, where he trained as an Automated Logistics Specialist (92A).

Over the course of 20 years in uniform, his service took him across the globe with assignments at Camp Casey, Korea; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Fort Drum, New York; Kaiserslautern, Germany; and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He also served as an instructor for the Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Fort Lee, Virginia. While deployed to Iraq as a Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant with the 65th Engineer Battalion, Master Sergeant King earned the Bronze Star for his leadership and valor. He personally planned and led 72 combat logistics patrol missions throughout Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, accomplishing each without the loss of a single soldier.

Later, Master Sergeant King deployed to Afghanistan as part of PEO Soldier Weapons and PEO Soldier Sensor and Lasers under the TACOM Life Cycle Management Command. There, he played a critical role in fielding and training troops on Individual Gunshot Detection equipment, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of our warfighters during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Following his retirement from active duty, Master Sergeant King remained with his family in Michigan. He supported the University of Michigan's ROTC program before rejoining TACOM as a Logistics Management Specialist. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become a GS-13 Team Lead for the Organic Industrial Base, demonstrating the same commitment to mission success that defined his military career. In August 2025, he concluded more than 35 years of combined military and civilian service to our Nation.

Master Sergeant King now plans to dedicate his time to supporting fellow veterans and strengthening the bonds of community that have guided his life of service. His journey reflects not only a lifetime of personal sacrifice, but also an enduring devotion to the United States Army, his fellow soldiers, and the freedoms we hold dear.

Mr. Speaker, let us extend our deepest appreciation to Master Sergeant Tommy J. King for his decades of selfless service to this great Nation. His legacy of leadership, sacrifice, and patriotism will continue to inspire generations to come, and it is my distinct honor to recognize him as our Veteran of the Month.

Mr. Speaker, House Republicans take the floor today to share the stories of hardworking Americans who will benefit from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

All of us spent the August district work period speaking with our constituents. At least, on the Republican side, we actually spoke to our constituents. We heard countless stories about how the One Big Beautiful Bill Act actually delivers wins for them: bigger paychecks, more jobs, safer communities, and a whole lot more.

Today's Special Order hour will focus on them, the American people. I will use this hour to highlight their stories. From Michiganders in the Ninth District to the coast of California, every corner of America benefits from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. That is exactly what we will hear today.

It is a privilege to kick things off and share some incredible stories of what is happening back home in Michigan's Ninth District as a result of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Over the past month, I have had the privilege of meeting with the people who truly drive our economy and strengthen our communities: our small businesses, our manufacturers, defense companies, farmers, and hardworking Michiganders. From shop floors at Allied UV assembly lines to AJG Aerospace in Clarkston, I heard directly from manufacturers who are expanding--and I will say it again--expanding production and hiring more workers, thanks to the R&D tax savings that we enacted.

I visited with small business owners like Lance Hollweg, whose family owned Armada Grain Company, and they have owned it for generations. Small business owners like Lance are the backbone of Main Street and will now be able to grow their companies and further support their employees.

I met with defense companies like Ascent Aerospace in Macomb, Michigan. Thanks to our $150 billion generational investment in national security, Ascent will ensure that our men and women in uniform have the tools that they need to protect our country and keep us safe.

Lastly, I spent time over the work period with family farms and family farmers, where the next generation of Michigan farmers can carry on the tradition of actually feeding America, thanks to the permanent death tax relief.

At each stop, I heard the same message: Washington needs to get out of the way and let hardworking Americans do what they do best. That is why I have been so proud to champion the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

This legislation cuts red tape and gives families, farmers, and job creators more freedom to succeed. The stories and feedback brought back from my district aren't just conversations; they are the reason that I am fighting every day for commonsense policies that actually put people before politics. Michigan families deserve solutions that make life easier, not harder. In the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, that is exactly what we are delivering.

Madam Speaker, you have just heard a number of stories from House Republicans about how the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will benefit their constituents, but you don't have to take our word for it. These stories come directly from the Americans who actually stand to benefit the most.

Whether you are a manufacturing worker in Pennsylvania, a Border Patrol agent in Arizona, or a server in rural America, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act delivers for all Americans. We spent the August district work period hearing from them, the people.

Many stories have been written about how the House Republicans were selling the bill, but the truth is, the bill sells itself.

Every Michigander I spoke with is excited. They are excited for no tax on tips, tax relief for seniors, the end of the death tax, and provisions to help small businesses create jobs and grow the local economies.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act truly puts the American person first.

Now, here is the interesting fact. Instead of joining us to put every American first, I want to remind everybody--and you need to ask this question--every single Democrat voted to raise taxes on hardworking Americans. Every single Democrat voted to raise taxes on every American. Think about that. We don't hear them talk about that.

Madam Speaker, we need to hold them accountable to that vote because Democrats want to raise our taxes.

Madam Speaker, our work does not end with this historic legislation. House Republicans will continue to work to deliver for the American people. As we return to Washington, we are more determined than ever to continue our work to enact commonsense policies that benefit all Americans.

In the days, weeks, and months ahead, I can assure my colleagues more stories of the benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will be heard. The fear-mongering from the Democrats is just going to have to stop. We are excited to share their stories. Madam Speaker, do you know what? The American people are excited to share their stories, too.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize and honor Thomas Durand, a dedicated and selfless leader in Michigan's agricultural community, on his induction into the Michigan Farmers Hall of Fame.

Thomas Durand has spent his life committed to Michigan agriculture. A lifelong farmer, Thomas, began his journey in the fields of Sanilac County, working alongside his father. In 1981, he established his own farm, where he continues to grow a diverse range of crops including sugar beets, black beans, wheat, soybeans, and corn.

A member of the Michigan Corn Growers Association, Thomas served four years on its board, including one year as president. He also served nine years on the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan board, including two years as its president.

Thomas's advocacy has extended far beyond Michigan's borders. He represented the U.S. Grains Council on a mission to Japan and has been a steadfast voice for Michigan corn growers in Washington, D.C.

His agricultural service doesn't stop at corn. Thomas has served 18 years on the Michigan Sugar Company board, and seven years on the Greenstone Farm Credit board. He is also a lifetime member of the Soybean Growers Association and an active member of the Michigan Farm Bureau.

Equally commendable is Thomas's commitment to community. He has served as a township supervisor, school board member, high school basketball coach, and referee. He has also spent years broadcasting local high school sports on WTGV in Sandusky, further strengthening community ties through his voice and presence.

In 2021, Thomas was honored with the Distinguished Service Award by the Michigan Corn Growers Association, a fitting recognition for his lifelong service and leadership.

Mr. Speaker, Thomas Durand exemplifies the very best of Michigan agriculture and rural leadership.
