Introduced December 14, 2021

AI-Generated Summary

Updated February 8, 2026 at 8:38 AM UTC

This House resolution simply sets the procedural rules for the House to consider H.R. 5665, which would create an Office in the State Department to monitor and combat Islamophobia. It waives any points of order that might block the bill, allows a specific substitute amendment, and limits debate time. The resolution affects how the House handles that particular bill, not the public directly.

Key Provisions

  • Waives all points of order against considering H.R. 5665.
  • Allows an amendment in the nature of a substitute based on the Rules Committee print.
  • Limits debate to one hour, split equally between the chair and the ranking minority member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
  • Permits only one motion to recommit before final passage without other intervening motions.
