Protecting Florida's Offshore Military Readiness Act

Introduced October 9, 2026

AI-Generated Summary

Updated October 14, 2026 at 4:21 AM UTC

The Protecting Florida's Offshore Military Readiness Act would stop new oil and gas leasing, production, and related activities in the Eglin Gulf Test and Training Range off Florida. It applies to any future leases or development in that area, but leaves any leases that were already valid before the law takes effect untouched. The moratorium ends only if the Department of Defense certifies that the range is no longer needed for critical military use.
