H.Res. 1075House119th Congress (2025-2027)Passed Congress

Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 4626) to amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to prohibit the Secretary of Energy from prescribing any new or amended energy conservation standard for a product that is not technologically feasible and economically justified, and for other purposes, and providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 4758) to repeal provisions of Public Law 117–169 relating to taxpayer subsidies for home electrification, and for other purposes.

Introduced February 24, 2026

AI-Generated Summary

Updated February 26, 2026 at 5:32 AM UTC

This House resolution clears the way for the House to consider two separate bills. The first bill (H.R. 4626) would change the Energy Policy and Conservation Act so the Energy Secretary cannot set new or revised energy‑efficiency standards for a product unless those standards are technically feasible and economically justified. The second bill (H.R. 4758) would repeal the parts of Public Law 117‑169 that provide tax subsidies for home electrification. The resolution waives procedural objections and limits debate on each bill.

Key Provisions

  • Waives all points of order against considering H.R. 4626 and H.R. 4758.
  • Allows each bill to be considered as read, with a single hour of debate split evenly between the chair and the ranking minority member of the Energy and Commerce Committee.
  • Permits one motion to recommit on each bill and orders the previous question for final passage without further motions.
