AI-Generated Summary

Updated June 30, 2026 at 5:24 AM UTC

This joint resolution uses the congressional‑disapproval authority in title 5 to reject a rule issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The rule would have required prior authorization for selected Medicare services as part of the WISeR model aimed at cutting wasteful care. By disapproving the rule, Congress prevents it from taking effect, affecting Medicare providers, patients, and the overall Medicare program.

Key Provisions

  • Congress formally disapproves the CMS rule that implements prior‑authorization requirements for certain Medicare services under the WISeR (Wasteful and Inappropriate Services Reduction) model.
  • The disapproval means the rule will have no legal effect and cannot be enforced on Medicare providers or beneficiaries.
