Introduced July 22, 2025

AI-Generated Summary

Updated January 17, 2026 at 6:01 AM UTC

The SHOWER Act amends the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to change how a "showerhead" is defined. It updates the definition to match the ASME A112.18.1-2024 standard, while specifically excluding safety‑shower heads. The change applies to any federal regulations that reference the definition of showerhead, affecting manufacturers, retailers, and consumers of residential shower fixtures.

Key Provisions

  • Replaces the current definition of "showerhead" with the definition found in ASME A112.18.1-2024, except that safety‑shower heads are not considered showerheads.
  • Requires the Secretary of Energy to revise related regulations within 180 days of the law’s enactment to reflect the new definition.
