AI-Generated Summary

Updated August 8, 2026 at 3:20 AM UTC

This joint resolution asks Congress to reject an EPA rule that gave California a waiver from the Clean Air Act, allowing the state to enforce its own advanced clean‑car and zero‑emission vehicle standards for model years 2017 and earlier. By disapproving the rule, Congress would prevent it from having any legal effect. The action mainly impacts the EPA’s regulatory authority, California’s vehicle emissions program, and auto manufacturers that must meet those standards.

Key Provisions

  • Congress disapproves the EPA rule granting California a waiver for its advanced clean‑car and zero‑emission vehicle standards, making the rule ineffective.
