Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor constituent Eleanor Marshall, and congratulate her on reaching an incredible milestone, her 100th birthday. Her remarkable life reflects faith, family, hard work, and dedication to those around her.
Born in Philadelphia on October 1, 1926, Eleanor built a life centered on her family and community. She was married to Chester E. Marshall Jr., a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and together they raised three children: Chester F. Marshall III, a Vietnam-era U.S. Air Force veteran; Thomas George Marshall; and Laraine N. Smyrl.
Eleanor's greatest legacy is her family, which has grown to include eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Her family's proud tradition of military service, including that of her husband and son, is a testament to the values of dedication and patriotism she helped instill in those she loved.
Throughout her life, Eleanor demonstrated a strong work ethic, spending many years working at the Stetson Hat Company. Outside of work, she was an avid bowler who enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships that came with the sport.
As Eleanor celebrates her 100th birthday, we honor a life defined by family, perseverance, hard work, and cherished relationships. Her legacy lives on through the many generations of her family and all those fortunate enough to know her.
